Melanie Beckett

Melanie is a Canadian student who has been training under Master Yuan since October 2008. She began her training at the age of 10 in Kempo Kung Fu but after high school decided to pursue her dreams of travelling. She spent the next few years working and travelling around America, Australia and Thailand. Melanie has worked in many different fields since graduating but had very little direction in her life.

After starting a new job in a Japanese garden in 2008, Melanie rediscovered her interest in Asian culture and decided to return to her training in Kung Fu. After returning to her old school she soon realized that training in martial arts was where her passion lay. But looking for a deeper submersion she decided to travel to Wudang to study internal Kung Fu with her sister Brandi. After visiting for 3 months, Melanie noticed a definite change in her body and spirit and decided that the 5 year program was an opportunity that couldn't be missed. So she returned home to tell her family and friends and came back in August 2009 to begin her journey. She looks forward to a future of physical and spiritual enlightenment, and hopes to share her knowledge with others.
