Jeff Reid

Jeff Reid (Daoist name: Zi He) is an American student who has been training under Master Yuan since July of 2007. Jeff is the captain of the foreigner's traditional class and strives unconditionally to do his best in all of his endeavors.

Jeff has taken a strong interest in martial arts training since his early youth, but with little opportunity to pursue his passion. In high school, Jeff began to take a strong interest in Daoism. He began training in Chinese wushu at the age of 20, studying Shaolin and Emei styles in his home-state of Rhode Island. It was also during this time that Jeff began to study Mandarin and to sacrifice more and more of his time to training. At 22 through a chance meeting with a former student of Master Yuan's Jeff was introduced to Wudang wushu and Master Yuan.

     Upon arrival to Wudang and meeting Master Yuan, Jeff immediately felt a strong affinity with both. Since his first day, Jeff has continued to train and learn Wudang Daoist wushu, meditation, and culture intensively. In Jeff''s years training under Master Yuan he has learned Wudang long fist, weapons, Taiji, Bagua, Xingyi, Liangyi, meditation, both hard and soft qi gong, and Daoist culture.  He is dedicated to studying and practicing Daoist wushu and culture.

     Jeff has been featured on various national and international TV shows, newspapers, and radio shows. One such group of television show producers visit Wudang every year to do subsequent follow up shows on Wudang, Master Yuan and his school, and Jeff.

     It is Jeff's goal to continue representing the Wudang San Feng Lineage and continue to learn, practice, and share with the world.
